Become an Authorized Experiential Learning Centre (ELC)

Partner with MKCL Knowledge Foundation to provide real-world learning experiences in agriculture.

What is an Experiential Learning Centre?

An Experiential Learning Centre (ELC) is an organization or facility authorized by MKCL Knowledge Foundation to support the practical component of the Integrated Agriculture course. An ELC is primarily an:

Experiential learning partner
Agricultural demonstration centre
Local learner-support centre

It is not merely a classroom or a venue for conducting lectures. Learners visit the ELC to connect concepts learned through the course with actual farms, enterprises, technologies, records, practices and agricultural situations.

Every learner batch assigned to an ELC is expected to undertake weekly visits to the centre during the course cycle. Additional visits may be organized depending on the course requirement, season and facilities available.

Revenue Sharing Model

The Experiential Learning Centre (ELC) will operate on a revenue-sharing model with MKCL Knowledge Foundation (MKCL-KF).

For every student enrolled through the ELC, the course fee will be shared between the ELC and MKCL-KF in the ratio of 66:34, calculated on the fee amount excluding applicable GST.

For example, if the total course fee is ₹1,770, including ₹270 GST, the net course fee considered for revenue sharing will be ₹1,500.

₹1,000 per student will be payable to the ELC after successful completion of the batch and fulfilment of the parameters and conditions prescribed by MKCL Knowledge Foundation.

₹500 per student, along with applicable taxes, will be retained by MKCL Knowledge Foundation towards programme implementation, technology, academic and other support services.

The revenue share payable to the ELC will be processed after completion of the respective batch, subject to fulfilment of the applicable terms and performance parameters specified by MKCL-KF.

What Does an ELC Do?

An Authorized ELC is expected to support learners in five major areas.

1

Provide Practical Exposure

The ELC should provide access to a real farm, agricultural enterprise, laboratory, demonstration unit or other course-relevant facility where learners can observe agricultural practices in action.

2

Organize Structured Learner Visits

The ELC should coordinate learner visits in consultation with MKCL Knowledge Foundation. A learner visit should be more than a general farm tour - it should include a planned, course-related demonstration or learning activity. For example, learners may:

Observe and prepare a basic farm map
Collect a supervised soil sample
Inspect a drip-irrigation system
Observe compost or vermicompost production
Identify crop nutrition or plant-protection practices
Examine farm records
Understand cost and income calculations
Observe resource recycling between crops, livestock and other farm enterprises

Only safe, supervised activities should be undertaken by learners.

3

Provide a Local Facilitator or Mentor

Every ELC should nominate a competent person who can coordinate the centre's learning activities. The facilitator may be an agriculture graduate, subject expert, experienced farmer, mentor farmer, trainer or agriculture-sector professional. Formal agriculture education is preferred; however, strong and verifiable practical agricultural experience may also be considered. The facilitator should be able to:

Work comfortably with adult learners
Explain agricultural practices
Coordinate demonstrations and learner visits
Use basic digital tools
Participate in video calls or live sessions
Support videos and presentations
Maintain attendance and activity records
Upload photographs, reports and other required evidence
4

Support Digital Learning

The Integrated Agriculture course uses a blended learning approach. Therefore, the ELC should have suitable infrastructure for displaying course content and participating in live digital sessions whenever required.

5

Maintain Records and Evidence

The ELC is required to maintain documentation of authorized learner visits and activities. This may include:

Visit details and date
Batch/cohort information
Attendance
Demonstration topics
Name of facilitator or expert
Dated photographs
Short video evidence, where required
Activity report
Assignment or field-visit related evidence
